Friday's Letters

I've never linked up with Ashley over from Adventures of Newlyweds but I am excited to this week!!

Dear Baby B, I love you and I haven't even met you yet. I'm so excited that your a little girl, you will for sure be spoiled and I can bet you will have Daddy wrapped around your finger in no time. Dear Hubby, Sometimes I wish you would understand more about this pregnancy but as scary as it is for you it is also as scary for me. We will work on it together. Dear Work, I love you and I know what I need to do - I'm just really scared. Dear Fur Babies, You guys are so cute & will always be my babies. Oscar instead of kissing my face off the other morning you were giving my belly licks. I know Baby B loved it because she was dancing away. Layla, you will be a great big sister you are so gentle and always want to cuddle. Jessie Pug you scare me with being so hyper but you're already understanding to stay away from certain baby things we already have. You will learn quickly. You three better not steal the baby toys! Dear Family, THANK you for all of your support I know I am  demanding impatient  but I know as perfect as I want everything you do too.

If you guys link up let me know!!! I would LOVVVE to read your letters!

Dilemma...

My job. I have told you guys before that I am a firefighter. I LOVE my job. I love helping people, I love my coworkers, I have ONLY ever been a firefighter outside of high school. I have taken a few college classes but with my current schedule I haven't been able to go back..

So let me try to explain a little bit. I work a 24 hour shift. For example a normal work shift is 7am (today, the 21st ) until 7am (tomorrow, the 22nd) then I am off from 7:01am (tomorrow, the 22nd) until 7am (the 23rd) get it? Every 8 days (4 shifts) I get two days off in a row and every month and a half I get a 4 day weekend. Whew. I know its confusing but it is important for sound advice you see HOW much I actually work. Basically its 144 hours every two weeks. My husband who is also a firefighter (different departments, Hes a state employee while I am a federal employee) is going to 24 hour shifts also! His shift is a ton better (in my opinion) he will work 24 on and 48 off... I am about an hour and 15 minute commute one way and my husbands is about 10 minutes. The only tuff part is the federal system you make a ton more then you make state side. Easy part is we will survive on his pay, bad part is it wont be the lifestyle we currently live.

When BB (Baby B.) gets here I will be taking off work for about 4 months. & I KNOW with my schedule and my husbands it will be IMPOSSIBLE for one of us to return to work. Without putting BB into daycare for HOURS AND HOURS. I don't want to go back. I know its hard, its scary, its 5 years in the federal system waisted. Its a lot of things that I think about a lot It festers inside of me I need someone to tell me this is okay. My husband is worried about financial reasons - -Heck I AM TOO BABE. I just know it will be better for me as a MOTHER, as a wife and it will eventually make me into a better person.

Now for the PLAN. I am currently looking for jobs closer to home, State or Federal. I would prefer a federal so I can transfer all of my benefits rather then throwing them away. I want to look into going back to school. The military will pay for it so Its no worry & I will have a much better schedule if I'm closer to home doing a job that isn't as stressful and involved as firefighting. I will be able to cook dinner for my husband every night (pshhh) I will be able to hold my baby girl every day! Feed her and play with her. Hopefully I can find something within the next 7 months (Due in Nov + 3 months maternity).

So I know this is a long one and I am not looking for sympathy because I have already given myself enough of it :] How did working mothers do it? I know I am in a completely different situation with my job and schedule but some encouragement is needed so I can start my hunt and feel better about it.

Thanksssss

I had a dream!

On Monday (March 5th).. during my nap I had a dream. It was very weird and I will spare you all of the details but long story short in my dream I took a pregnancy test but I was never able to see the results. So I woke up in a panic sorta. I got ready and headed out to the store to get something for dinner and maybe Chinese food for lunch (don't judge). While I was in the car I called Mr.B and told him about my dream and we both thought it was crazy so I decided to get a take home test just to sooth my curiosity. Well I took my good ole' time shopping. I actually went to Wally world, then to Pathmark - then finally to the Chinese restaurant to get my lunch.
Once I got home I didn't worry too much about the pregnancy tests because I was starving! I put away my cold foods and then I ate! While eating I opened the tests and realized I wasn't due to get my period until the 9th. While reading the packet it said that I would be able to tell (First response) but sometimes people aren't able to tell due to low amounts of some hormone in your urine and if I was going to take it early I needed to take it first thing in the morning. I couldn't wait and if it was a negative I had another test to take first thing in the morning! I am inpatient in the worst way. I took it - I set it on the counter then I walked away. I told myself that I would NOT sit there and watch to be either disappointed or super scared. When I returned back to the bathroom I saw a faint faint faint line!!!!! EEEkKkkk!! Mr.B was on his way home from work - so I send him a picture then called (well because he was driving so I knew I needed to TELL him to look at the picture). He looked at it and said he couldn't really see the line. I say it was very very bad cell phone photography. So we talked for a minute and it was the longest hour waiting for him to get home. When he got home just to appease my faint line and maybe somehow I thought it would be easier to talk myself into it...I took another one and this sucker was there. No denying that line. The right one is the first test I took the left is the second. So I haven't told any of my family yet and only one of my friends who works at a hospital just to get her input because she is also pregnant and 4 months along.
Whats going to happen next.. Well as you all know I just moved to DE this summer - I haven't found an OBGYN here yet! So I decided to google and research. I called my Dr. back in Philly and she said I could come in and get blood work done to confirm but I don't want to wait until next week! ahem remember inpatient! So tomorrow after the flower show with my sister I am going to drag her to DE - STEAL her cell phone so she cant call anyone to tell them my secret then I am going to beg her to go to Planed Parenthood with me. Just so I can get the blood work done and know 100% sure that there is something growing in my belly. I have already called a local hospital/women center for an initial appointment (which they don't do blood work, until APRIL when I would see an actual DR not a nurse?????) That is set for Thursday if my blood work is positive and I have a Dr. apt scheduled for April - Lets hope this all goes well!

WOW

Since that last tid bit - it has been OVER a month! I am about 10 weeks and 4 days right now (Saturdays add another week for me) and I finally told all of my family & made it -facebook official- I am NOT enjoying all the pregnancy hormones, sickness and related things... But I know I am creating a life inside of me and I need to be humble and accept it and cherish these times. On that note. From weeks 5-NOW I have been experiencing ALL day sickness. Random throwing up or dry heaving. Lately very bad vertigo (dizziness). I have a nose of a champ & sometimes I hate it.
I had a bit of a scare with spotting around the 25th of March so  I went to the hospital maternity triage - Mr.B wasn't able to be there (stupid stupid work wouldn't let him go) but I saw little BB for the first time & I was also able to hear the little suckers heart beat - 167 bpm.
We weren't allowed prints so I used the handy IPhone!

I sobbed like a kid. It was an amazing feeling to know that our baby was A-okay and to finally see the little sucker! After that we had our first prenatal appointment April 2nd, the Dr. (whom is pretty frickin awesome) let us get another ultrasound so Mr.B could see BB for himself :) and she printed out a few photos for us!
This was one of the prints I just took the picture with my IPhone. You can see the big ole' head and nose!

It was amazing. I know we still have a few weeks to go before we will find out the gender but we are already planning a gender reveal party! We don't have a HUGE family but we are going to be inviting our family AND our close friends so we can all find out together.

Any Pregnancy tips? Gender reveal party ideas? Our next appointment is April 30th (13 weeks) and I'm supposed to go every 4 weeks - so the next time after that will be at 17 weeks... do you think thats too early to find out what the gender is?

Oh and for shits and giggles here is a picture. From like 10 minutes ago. With my little lime (my bible book says BB is about 2 inches long aka the size of a lime) belly.
I just look awkwardly bloated but anyone who knows me can tell its a bump in the making!

Well.. what do we have here

Its been exactly two weeks since I last posted. I really haven't had much to write about. I mean the usual. House work, work-work, errands, more house work + a mix of nice weather, crap weather & lawn mowing. We have a few projects going on at the house right now and its driving me nuts. I really hate when we don't finish one project before we start another.... So I tomorrow I am going to focus on finishing up one of them. GOALS. whew. Growing up stinks.

Busy Bee

Hey Folks! Hows life treating you all? I have some amazing news but I have to wait a few days to share! I know nothing like the opening line to today's post to keep you hanging?! It just means you HAVE TO COME BACK! Suckers...
Ohh well this weekend I had Drill it was uneventful and boring... but it means I got to spend some time with my Old folks. They came down to Delaware and hung out until 11. Wayyy past this little girls bedtime on a Saturday night! Especially because I had to be up super early on Sunday for the 2nd day of my drill weekend. Phew. I was passed out before my mom sent me her -I'm home- text. We had a blast though. Mom and I went to the farmers market and cooked an awesome German dinner. All while Mr.B and my Dad worked on that HOLE in the wall project. All I've got to say is they better get used to it because I have a strange inkling that they will be working on the bedroom/office wall before they know it!
My Monday was spent doing house work and lounging around. I actually took a nap and it was wonderful. I am such a napper. I could close my eyes right now and be passed out in no time! Yesterday I also spent a good amount of time on the computer looking up healthy recipes. I am having a hard time finding some good ones with foods that I actually like! Its driving me up a wall. Anyone out there in bloggers land have any good recipes that aren't loaded with bacon (ohhh bacon I'd love you right now). ehhh.... Please share them!
xo
Tomorrow I'm going to the Flower show!!! I will be posting pictures when I return

till then...

March....

Already? Well I haven't written much in the month of February. It was much like a whirlwind. There was so much that I did that I could have written about but I just didn't... #badbeginnerblogger... I was, wasn't I? So March I am going to try to vow to write more often! Let me try to tell you about the month of February...

My oldest sisters 30th Birthday

(the first picture is my sisters and I with our boys men & the second is my cousin Ashley who just found out shes expecting a little one btw I may have baby envy...)

Then Mr.B and I have been working on the living room and dining room "conversion" like crazy (while both sick as dogs). I already told you about that ugly cast iron thing here... since then we've painted the living room and dining room the same color, installed a chair rail, cut an 8x3 hole into the wall & decorated (furniture curtains etc). I LOVE it. We still want to get new furniture but we want to sell our old stuff first. I have to take more pictures before I write a post so I can show you before and after.

After that was all said and done we tried to move some of our furniture in our upstairs rooms because we were feeling cluttered. I don't know how we managed to fit all of this stuff at my parents and in a 10x10 storage unit. But we moved our clothes out of the guest room FINALLY and we put my sewing stuff in there. We are waiting on a free (crossing fingers) mattress and then we will get a little night stand and call that room quits.

Ahhh the little things. Well I have to go wake Mr.B from his slumber and then we are going to hit up the gym. OHH the gym I cant wait to tell you about my progress!

Till next time.
